If you have gotten to know Ava and me in this season, you have probably heard this story, but if you haven't gotten to hear our story, here is a quick story from Meyer's point of view.
Ava and I met on March 22nd, 2025, at Evergreen, in Redding, CA. I was there to meet a friend, and looked up and saw Ava. I was immediately taken aback. Ava took the strongest hold on my heart as soon as I saw her.
A couple of hours later, Ava went outside to get something from the back of the café, and I followed her outside to introduce myself. Before I said anything, Ava told me to have a great day. Even though it was a very short sentence, I was already blessed by this kindness that changed my life. I then got her name, found out that she was from Portland, had done BSSM, and had the most intriguing beauty.
About a week later, I was going to meet with my professor and went into Evergreen, hoping to see her again. I was excited to see that she was working, so I ordered a hibiscus tea and stood at the counter trying to make conversation with her as she washed dishes. As I walked in, John Denver was playing, and I complimented the barista (what up Emma Stafford) on great music taste, but she then told me that it was Ava playing the music, so as I tried to talk over the sound of clanging dishes and running water, I brought up her great taste. As I left that day, I listened to the song that she was playing, "Sunshine on My Shoulders."
As I drove, I thought about this divine feminine beauty that stood 8 feet away and realized she was going to change my life.
Not long after that, our young adults group at church was having an event that Ava posted about. I seriously missed that her post had ALL of the information on it, so I messaged her asking for the details that she had already provided.
